#HPVvaccine campaign: the Canadian Cancer Society & Public Health team up to reduce cancer risk through the HPV vaccine

The human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine is a strong weapon in cancer prevention. One of the Canadian Cancer Society’s (CCS) key priorities is to increase uptake of the HPV vaccine among girls and boys through a public education campaign to reduce the risk of cancer.

More recently, the CCS has collaborated with a number of Public Health Units to create an educational campaign, which highlights the potential of the HPV vaccine to reduce the risk of cervical, oral, anal and penile cancers.

This presentation will review the potential benefits of the HPV vaccine and provide an opportunity for public health units to consider working with the CCS by including HPV vaccine as part of their health promotion strategies and programs.
